Can my device be used as a mobile hotspot for data tethering?
Mobile hotspot functionality (which allows you to use your device to share your Charity Mobile data plan with your other Wi-Fi capable devices) is available on most current Charity Mobile basic phones, smartphones, and tablets. Mobile hotspot functionality requires a Data Enabled line.
On supported devices, you can enable or disable mobile hotspot functionality on any/all lines in the My Account portal. Alternately, you may contact us to activate mobile hotspot functionality on your device.
There is no additional charge to enable mobile hotspot functionality, and no restrictions on the amount of your plan's available cellular data that can be used for mobile hotspot functionality, but you are responsible for all data usage generated by your device and all wireless devices tethered to it. Note that your device's Wi-Fi connection will be disabled whenever it is acting as a mobile hotspot, and your device and all tethered wireless devices will only use your plan's cellular data during this time. Charity Mobile recommends that you upgrade to a plan with additional data if you intend to use mobile hotspot functionality regularly.
